Wittgenstein

View towards the Wittgenstein site

Visit the site where the famous Austrian philosopher Wittgenstein once lived. In 1921, Wittgenstein published the book "Tractatus Logico-Filosoficus", which is still considered one of the most important standard works in modern philosophy. He wrote parts of this book in his house in Skjolden.

The original plot is on a ledge in a steep mountain slope 30 meters above Eidsvatnet, a place that was called Little Austria by the people living in the village, because of the famous philosopher.

The walk to the Wittgenstein site starts from Vassbakken Kro og Camping
